Solar power is the conversion of energy from sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power. Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaic cells convert light into an electric current using the photovoltaic effect.

Concentrated solar power (CSP), also called “concentrated solar thermal”, uses lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Contrary to photovoltaics – which converts light directly into electricity – CSP uses the heat of the sun’s radiation to generate electricity from conventional steam-driven turbines. Thermal storage efficiently allows up to 24-hour electricity generation.

 

For several years, worldwide growth of solar PV was driven by European deployment, but has since shifted to Asia, especially China and Japan, and to a growing number of countries and regions all over the world, including, but not Canada, Chile, India, Israel, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia.

300KW Solar Photovoltaic Plant

The completion of the 300kW solar photovoltaic plant marked the Group’s first entry into power generation and renewable energy. Built on rooftop area of 2,711 sq. m. and equipped with 936 photovoltaic modules, the plant is expected to produce average 414MW of clean energy annually for the national grid using photovoltaic technology.

The completion of the 425kW solar photovoltaic plant marked the Group’s first entry into power generation and renewable energy. Built on rooftop area of 2,760 sq. m. and equipped with 1,370 photovoltaic modules, the plant is expected to produce average 616MW of clean energy annually for the national grid using photovoltaic technology.
